During yesterday’s trip to the store we ate some Butter Cookies with our coffee, and Joanne really liked them. The problem is neither of us is supposed to eat wheat. So we decided to try making our own using a blend of Amaranth flour and Buckwheat flower. We didn’t have enough though, so back to the store we went.

Yesterday’s snow turned into freezing rain overnight, the typical Portland winter storm. Fortunately we didn’t get much, and with all the snow on the ground getting around wasn’t too bad. In fact, overall it was better than yesterday, since wind driven snow wasn’t sandblasting our faces.

Joanne with plans to keep our fridge smelling fresh!

Once at the store, not the one we normally shop at, we quickly discovered that they don’t carry the special flours we were looking for. In that same aisle though Joanne found an Arm and Hammer Fridge Fresh, so we picked one up. All that work getting bundled up and walking to the store only to come up with that. Although we did eat lunch, have coffee, and get some more cookies, so it wasn’t a complete loss!

Back home it was time to get to work. We decided to go ahead and shovel the snow off our front walk and driveway. The drifts were about two feet deep in places! Overall it wasn’t quite as bad as I expected. The only problem was that as soon as we had finished it started snowing again, quickly covering everything with another inch or so of snow, and it sounds like more is on the way. Oh well, at least we can easily get out of the house if we decide to go somewhere.

Don't have to do this very often in Portland
